The Tung-Sol 6V6GT is a modern reissue of the classic 1950s American beam power tetrode vacuum tube, manufactured at the Reflektor factory in Saratov, Russia, and owned by the New Sensor Corporation. [1, 2]
Key Features & Characteristics
Build & Durability: Designed with heavier plate and grid materials compared to standard variants to safely handle higher plate and voltage thresholds commonly found in vintage guitar amplifiers. Updated production runs feature internal support rods running from the top to bottom mica spacers to minimize element movement. [1, 2, 3]
Tone & Performance: Known for delivering rich mids, a deep and tight low-end, and a smooth, open top end. It breaks up evenly across the fretboard, making it a popular choice for blues and rock guitarists.
